About the programs

In addition the expiring "Diplom"-certificate Audio and Video Engineering program in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences, Duesseldorf, the University of Music, Duesseldorf is offering two eight-semester Bachelor-programs: Audio and Video (in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences, Duesseldorf) and Music and Media.

 

The media-oriented University of Music is looking at the advanced technology and development within music and media industry with these new courses. Music, in its many ways of artistic expression, is a crucial part of the social life. Meanwhile, few industries underwent greater changes worldwide. Production, distribution and reception of music is defined by technological innovations like never before. To meet up with this global evolution of the music industry, the Institute For Music And Media is introducing both programs, Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Audio and Video and Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) in Music and Media.

 

The Institute For Music And Media (IMM), founded in 2004 as a department of the University of Music, Duesseldorf, is opening practise-oriented paths into the professional world of music and media. It combines in its programs artistic and technical education in a highly unique way. On the base of a very profound, state-of-the-art- technical equipment and a diverse staff, the IMM is offering both, theory and work, on a contemporary level. A dynamic, trans-disciplinary atmosphere, constant exchange with different fields of the music and media industry, fellow Universities, departments and professional partners, as well as vocational workshops will help students and graduates to prepare for the best possible chances in the professional world of music and media.
